Your oral health needs depend on your diet, on the type of and amount of saliva in your mouth, on your overall health, and on your oral hygiene routine. Fluoride toughens developing teeth in children, and it prevents tooth decay in adults. Try to brush your teeth twice a day, if not after every meal. Flossing twice a day is a very healthy practice as well. Flossing and brushing remove plaque: a complex mass of bacteria that is constantly forming on your teeth.
Any form of Tobacco will increase the risk of oral cancer, and can also stain your teeth. Make regular visits to your dentist and get your mouth looked at.
