Dubbed as a cleansing and reducing diet, the master cleanse diet is on the top of lists of different kinds of diets.
This could be because of the fact that celebrities have surfaced claiming that the diet has made them lose weight. It is also a very simple diet that ordinary people can easily follow.
The master cleanse diet involves the said dieter to consume nothing but lemonade all throughout the ten day diet period as its creator, alternative medicine practitioner Stanley Burroughs, have designed it.
The lemonade intake should also be accompanied with laxatives so that the dieter can effectively excrete his wastes.
This lemonade is no ordinary kind of lemonade in that it is a mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper in water. The ingredients were specially selected for their properties.
First, the lemon is said to have great cleansing properties and is effective in loosening up the mucous linings. The cayenne pepper has parallel properties as that of the lemon because it also loosens the mucous linings and cleanses the digestive, respiratory and circulatory tracts.
The only ingredient that is of secondary importance is the maple syrup. The maple syrup is only there to increase the calories of the drink. This is especially important in that the people going through the master cleanse diet will not be able to take in any kind of solid food. For this matter, they will need to get their caloric requirements from the lemonade so that they still get the energy that will make them last throughout the day.
You can even decrease the amount of maple syrup you put in or skip it altogether if you want to increase its effectiveness as a reducing diet.
One thing that you should never skip because it is an integral part of the diet is the consumption of laxatives that will allow for proper excretion of toxins as part of wastes. The diet will last for 10 days and that means that you will have go through the entire time without any fiber in your system. Your fiber will allow for natural movement of bowels and will be replaced by your laxatives.
There are two types of laxatives that you can choose. The first one is tea. There are a lot of teas out there with senna that are effective laxatives. The second one is a salt water flush. To prepare this you just need to mix in organic, sea salt to your water and chug it.
It wont take long for the dieter to want to go to the bathroom so make sure that you have an available one before you go on with your salt water flush.
