There’s about one thing constant in this world: Change, and I’m sure you hear this around every time. I guess this holds true especially when older people frown upon seeing their grandkids in front of that boob tube, or attached to the gadgets they have, oftentimes they bought for them, thinking running around the village playing hide and seek surely have been stuck in history.
But then again, how could they not, when times have changed, and gone are the trees that grandparents, then children get to play hide and seek in. It’s easily a hello to great technology, massive infrastructures and endless choices of processed food around.
Uh-oh, I can easily hear baby boomer disgruntle, along with doctors, nutritionists and health experts. They basically unanimously agree with the logic: Food + Less exercise = Slower metabolism = Obesity. And what’s the worse thing in that equation? A domino effect of teenagers battling a lot of harsh elements as teasing and bullying, as well as television projections of skinny models regarded as beautiful, which logically result to other problems as depression, anorexia, bulimia, and as early as getting those adult ailments, diabetes, arthritis and heart problem conditions. So how to deal with this battle of the older said this, the younger feels that? Involvement in physical fitness activities. You might find the baby boomer smirking at this, but read through and you will be smirking back.
There are about countless things a home or a school can incorporate to get those kids out of those couches and up on their feet. There is cycling, dancing, jogging, sports involvement, gym, ice skating, skating, trampoline exercises and aerobic classes ” among, again, countless others. So what’s the point? Its to get the kids physically fit ” meaning, getting the optimal functioning of the person’s body, as those of the heart, lungs and muscles. Along with it that domino effect of kids feeling a lot greater about themselves, getting that self-esteem, confidence, and energy to have more fun. In a phrase, it spells positivity about life.
How about those smirking back at grannies? Not everyone is comfortable on being outside the house. So how about letting that exercise in the house, instead, and even with that boob tube? Making most of those gadgets and what technology can offer, Grannies will no longer have to frown on those gadgets. So how about those game exercises in WII, or those virtual reality computer programmed games? But here’s the deal. As this is easily comfortable with one’s preference, this should be a routine that has to be done regularly, even 20 to 30 minutes a day will do. Or would like to go for those tae bo or hip hop abs videos? Go ahead, get physically active by using some fitness video information.
Change, regardless if you’d want to hear it or not, would constantly be getting fit itself. So it shouldn’t be a battle of granny think this, grandkid would rather this. How about getting the two in the equation, sweat out while having fun, and ultimately getting that positivity in life.
