Avoid The Dangers Of Spray Tanning

Spray tanning salons have popped up in many cities in recent years. More and more people are getting tans by various sunless tanning methods.

The main reason is that many people believe that it is safe. This is actually half the story and it is not entirely accurate.

The FDA is on record stating that the main active ingredient in spray tanning solution is safe when applied directly on the skin. This statement has given people a false sense of security.

While dihydroxyacetone is in fact safe when used on the skin, it is however unsafe when it comes into contact with the face. Especially when it is inhaled or when it penetrates the eyes.

The FDA has advised tanners to put on eye goggles and nose plugs when entering spray tanning booths. This advice is often ignored because tanning salons are not regulated by the FDA.

Another troubling aspect is that spray tanning solutions also include other chemicals that are very potent and dangerous to the health of people. Chemicals such as mercury are sometimes used and mercury is indeed dangerous.

Such information usually escapes the mind because many folks have stubbornly believed that spray tanning to be safe.

And it could very well be but precaution most be exercised. Reading the label and understanding what chemicals are inside is very important.

Following the FDA advice to wear protective eye goggles and to protect your lips is vital to safety. As is avoiding inhalation of the fumes generated by the tanning solution.

The more a person knows and the more aware they are the less likelihood for regret. Don’t rely on the tanning salon to protect your health, you must be proactive in this regard. Their main interest is to make money and not your health.

Common sense is a great thing and common sense should tell us that anything artificial is not necessarily better than something that is natural.

Excessive sun rays is indeed harmful to the skin but thinking that an artificial sunless tan is the solution is a wrong way of looking at things.

The fact is spray tanning is relatively new and it will take many years until will fully understand any repercussions from this sort of tanning.

Perhaps it would be best if we used caution whenever we decide to enter a spray tanning booth.

Ever Wish You Could Choose To Have A Baby Boy Next?

There are many people who try and try to have a baby boy. They may already be the proud and loving parents of adorable little girls, but would also welcome a boy into the family. But it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards. So, how to have a baby boy when the odds seem stacked against you?

Did you know that the father’s sperm is what determines if the baby is going to be a boy or girl? Many people do not realize this and many women feel like failures for not producing a fine baby boy for their husbands. Gender is a at best a 50/50 proposition if left to its own devices, but you can actually help it along.

Mother Nature stacks the odds in favor of Y sperm to win the race, allowing a few more boys to be born than girls. Once ejaculated, Y sperm can move much faster than X sperm, but the downside is that male sperm is weaker and less apt to survive beyond a few days than female sperm.

To begin with when you have intercourse a couple days before the woman ovulates, then the chances of having a male decrease. This is due to the fact that Y sperm will die off before it has a chance to fertilize a waiting egg. On the other hand, X sperm can continue to live on for a few days even in a less than friendly uterine environmental to make its way to the egg.

If you are able to track your ovulation cycle, you can time intercourse to coincide with the release of an egg into the fallopian tube. There are various ways to monitor ovulation, including rising basal temperature or even better, ovulation testing kits which can detect changes in luteinizing hormone (LH) levels in the urine which in turn indicates ovulation is about to occur.

How to have a baby boy can be made a bit easier if the father makes a few lifestyle changes. By quitting smoking and alcohol use, a male can significantly improve sperm count. Y sperm don’t fare well under hostile conditions such as high body heat, tight clothes or strenuous activity. Eliminating or reducing these factors can help your body produce stronger, healthier sperm and increase your chances of the Y sperm being the one to fertilize an egg and produce that bouncing baby boy you want so much.

Believe it or not, what you eat or do before you get pregnant can help with the sex of the baby. Your doctor can let you know what your vaginal pH levels are and make recommendations with respect to creating Y sperm friendly conditions. How to have a baby boy is not as hard as you think it is and is possible if you’re willing to follow the tips in this article.

Lose The Wrinkles With Derma Fillers

If it’s time for you to seriously start completing have some “work” done on your face, you may want to think about derma fillers. These substances work very well at making wrinkles seemingly vanish, and produce a more natural result than Botox. They also last longer.

Most derma fillers are made of hyaluronic acid or collagen. These two substances are available in a type of clear gel that gives the skin a natural texture when they are placed underneath the surface of the skin.

Before the fillers are injected, there is an anesthetic applied to the area. This may be done topically or through a small injection. Once the area is numb, the filler is injected. Eventually, this filler is absorbed into the body and another treatment is needed. However, most fillers will stay in place between six and twelve months. There are a couple of new fillers available today that are considered semi-permanent and can last as long as a year and a half.

Side effects can include redness and swelling at the injection site, but this is gone within a day or two. Since most of the fillers are created from all natural substances, there is little chance for an allergic reaction. Speak to your med spa personnel if you have any reason to think you may be allergic.

Derma fillers are also a great way to plump up the lips. Usually, a collagen based filler is used, as this is one area where the end result must be incredibly smooth. Collagen is a substance found in the skin that helps keep the skin plump and smooth. It also helps with the skin’s elasticity. If your skin has less collagen than normal, wrinkles begin to appear. Collagen levels usually decrease with age.

If you have very deep wrinkles, these fillers can really work wonders. Marionette lines found between the mouth and the jaw line, as well as “parenthesis lines” found between the mouth and the nose are very easily treated with derma fillers. You can quickly look years younger and there is no repeat treatment needed for several months. You can see where this could save you quite a bit of money over the cost of treatments that require many additional appointments.

Men are also getting derma fillers. It’s estimated that between ten and fifteen percent of all cosmetic procedures are now done on men. While you may have a hard time getting any man to admit to it, the technicians in the med spas are very well aware of the number of male clients. This is really a marker of how effective these types of treatments are.

Derma fillers provide a unique opportunity to look younger without the downtime, pain, and expense of a face lift. A face lift also comes with significant risks, stitches, and many follow up appointments. If you are looking for a procedure that gives you fantastic results, but doesn’t cost a lot or have a high recuperation time, it’s time to seriously look at derma fillers.

Hemorrhoids Removal Procedure

In the world today, over 240 million people suffer or have suffered from the problem of hemorrhoids. While most can get by with at-home treatments or medicated ointments and creams, the most severe cases can only be cured through a hemorrhoids removal procedure. This is one of the most effective ways to achieve long-term relief and is a must-have procedure for those extreme cases.

The procedure in question is called a hemorrhoidectomy, which is usually an out-patient surgery (although some cases result in the patient having to stay overnight). Both internal and external hemorrhoids can be removed with this surgery, often a last resort when other treatment methods have been attempted and have not worked.

Hemorrhoids removal procedure via hemorrhoidectomy is done by putting the patient under local anesthesia in the surgery center. Once the patient is a sleep and stable the surgeon will make a small incision in the tissues around the hemorrhoid. The surgeon will then tie off the swollen veins to prevent the hemorrhoids from bleeding. After the surgeon has completed the hemorrhoids removal procedure, the wound can be covered with gauze. In some cases they have been stitched to avoid tears of the skin. In most cases the patient can return home the same day.

The recovery time for the hemorrhoids removal procedure is normally 2-3 weeks. In this time the patient will experience a lot of pain. Most doctors will prescribe pain medication. However almost all pain medicine will cause some constipation, so you should really limit yourself to how much you take. If you can get by with just taking a few Tylenol that would be a lot better than taking pain killers.

Hemorrhoids removal procedures have a success rate of over 90% in most cases. This means that the hemorrhoids never return. Just about 5% of the people who have had the procedure have reported the return of the hemorrhoids over time.

Some of the most common risks doctors report with hemorrhoids removal procedures are pain, bleeding, and problems going to the restroom. Some doctors also have reported in the most extreme cases narrowing of the anal opening. Any hemorrhoids removal procedure is painful; however it just might be worth it if you are in constant pain from swollen irritated hemorrhoids everyday!

Caring for the wounds caused by a hemorrhoids removal procedure is vital to speed up recovery time following the operation. Pain is, unfortunately, a certainty. Over the counter medications for pain are preferred to prescribe pain relief medication because the latter can cause constipation, which will make your recovery only worse. It may help to use stool softeners if one has to take pain medication, to help mitigate the symptoms of constipation.

Many patients who have had a hemorrhoids removal procedure done have used ice packs 2-3 times a day for the first few days. This will keep the swelling done to a minimum. After the first few days you should switch from ice to heat. This is done by using a sitz bath or heating pack. It’s recommended that you use a sitz bath 2-3 times a day to relieve the swelling and pressure. Also eating a high fiber diet after surgery will help in passing your stool easier. Your surgeon will give you follow up directions in all the things you need to do to insure a speedy recovery.
